Hotel Paso Del Norte

The Hotel Paso del Norte was designed by Trost & Trost in a Beau Arts/Chicago School eclectic blend, and was completed in November of 1912. El Paso pioneer Zach White erected the building along with a consortium of El Paso investors, led by Felix Martinez. White had watched the destruction of the Grand Central Hotel by fire in 1892, and determined to erect a fire-proof replacement. Along with architect Henry C. Trost, he journeyed to San Francisco to study buildings that had survived the 1906 Earthquake and resulting fires; Trost subsequently drawing the plans for the fireproof, earthquake-proof structure that stands today.

The building stands today, beautifully restored and in use as a Hotel. For more information, please visit https://www.sketchclub.net/p/paso-del-norte-hotel.html
