Completed in 1929, the Hotel Hildago was part of the Gateway chain of Hotels owned by Charles Bassett of El Paso. This property was designed by Trost & Trost in a eclectic blend of Spanish, Pueblo and Mission styles as a Hotel and a Texaco Service Station. A portion, the eastern half, remains today, although deteriorating and vacant. For more information, please see https://www.facebook.com/TrostSociety/posts/3326005534184156.
Modern photography taken by Mark Stone on 10/22/2020. The old photographs are from Postcards that were for sale at Ebay by seller “rosepostcard”.
