Remarks: The Brutinell is one of six Tudor style apartment or hotel buildings designed by Trost & Trost. The others were planned for Nogales, Arizona; Prescott, Arizona; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Silver City, New Mexico; and El Paso (Sunset Heights). None of these projects was built.
The Masonic Temple of 1912 can be seen to the left in the rendering. The streets are indicated by name in the ground floor plan, as are spaces for four retail stores, cigar and news stand, lobby, and office space.
Prepared for the El Paso Public Library by Lloyd C. and June F. Engelbrecht under a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, 1990
