The Hassayampa Hotel was erected in 1927, designed by Trost & Trost in a Mission Revival – Renaissance Revival eclectic blend. The first plans drawn by Trost for the building were rejected, because the residents of the small Arizona town of Prescott preferred a New England look to the building to match existing structures throughout the town. The Hassayampa Hotel Company, formed to increase tourism in the community, contacted Trost for the design because they admired the firm’s work in designing Albuquerque’s Franciscan Hotel.
