Rebuilding Trost Was a Huge Success!
Thank you to everyone who made this year’s Rebuilding Trost a resounding success. Over 300 community members came together in the atrium of the beautifully restored White House Department Store – now known as the Center Building. Alongside music, art, and food, we brought in over $21,000 in much-needed funds for rebuilding, educating, and restoring Trost buildings across El Paso and the greater Southwest.
One of the event’s highlights was welcoming Paul Foster as our keynote speaker. Mr. Foster spoke to his extensive record of preserving some of Trost & Trost’s largest and most important buildings in the heart of El Paso’s historic center including the Mills Building, White House Department Store, and Plaza Hotel. Taking time for questions from the audience around the future of El Paso, Mr. Foster highlighted the considerable benefits – and the challenges – of preserving historic structures.
A special thanks to all of our fantastic volunteers, the artists who donated over 20 works of art, and our vendors: Rocketbust, Wonder, and Paradigm Texas.

For our Fall 2018 Rebuilding Trost event, we have the pleasure of welcoming Paul Foster to the Trost Society as our keynote speaker and will host our event in the atrium of the beautifully restored White House Department Store – now known as the Center Building.
Mr. Foster’s extensive record of preserving some of Trost & Trost’s largest and most important buildings in the heart of El Paso’s historic center including the Mills Building, White House Department Store, and Plaza Hotel will make for a very interesting talk – one which we hope will help other members of our community understand the considerable benefits of preserving historic structures.
We have also invited some of El Paso’s most talked-about artists to auction artworks featuring our local architecture and the life surrounding them.
